No Pre-requisites

This course must be done every year to maintain currency if you hold a first aid qualification Australian Qualification Training's CPR training is open to everyone. There are no prerequisites or previous experience required. We do ask students under 14 years of age to provide written statement from a parent or guardian granting them permission to attend the course.

Course Information

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation is usually referred to as CPR Refresher.

There are pre-course theory requirements for the course. You will complete these online before the classroom booking.

Statement of Attainment Issued

Participants assessed as being competent in all assessments will receive a Statement of Attainment in HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Course Requirements

All students completing this course must have moderate English. All student will need to complete a few scenarios during the class to ensure effective communication. It is a requirement that CPR be demonstrated on the floor using a manikin, if this is not achieved you will not be marked as competent.

Course Duration

3 hours in class with an online component for theory and assessment

  1. Recognising an emergency situation
  2. Identifying, assessing and minimalising immediate hazards
  3. Seeking assistance from emergency response services
  4. DRSABCD action plan
  5. Respond to signs of an unconscious casualty
  6. Perform CPR in line with ARC guidelines
  7. Infection control
  8. Demonstrate the use of AED
  9. Provide an accurate verbal report of the incident
